The West Somerset Dowsers is a new group aiming to encourage people to learn about dowsing and experience it for themselves. The first of its kind in Somerset, the group has a mixed membership ranging from complete beginners through to professional dowsers. We aim to stimulate discussion and participation. The group covers earth energies, archaeology, dowsing for health and water dowsing. It is affiliated to the British Society of Dowsers (BSD) and is loosely based around Taunton. We meet on a monthly basis, with talks, workshops and outdoor trips to sites of interest across Somerset. New members are welcome. No prior knowledge is needed. Membership is £15 per year: non-members can attend our events for a small charge.

Chairman Mike Rawles says

”We have set up a local group to bring together people interested in all aspects of dowsing. We very much want to keep the skill of dowsing alive through site visits, talks and workshops as well as discovering more about the landscapes and curiosities of Somerset. We are keen to hear from existing dowsers and those who would like to learn”.

Carol Stone, a member of West Somerset Dowsers, says:

“Having a local dowsing group now means I can visit new places, practise dowsing with like minded people and I’m gaining a new perspective on Somerset. I’m really looking forward to the events planned over the coming months”.
