Photographs of and information about the now extinct 45 mile long Somerset and Devon Railway, which connected Taunton, Somerset, with Barnstaple in North Devon. Back to Railways in Exmoor section.
An old bridge over the old Devon and Somerset GWR railway, which connected Taunton with Barnstaple. This bridge is in the village of Brushford where the trackbed here has been partially converted to a cycle and foot path. Brushford itself was the terminus of the Exe Valley railway and a through station on the Taunton to Barnstaple line. The station although located in Brushford was known as Dulverton, which is actually a couple miles away.
