The entrance to Watchet Museum in Watchet in West Somerset. Almost all of the museum is visible in this photograph.

Watchet Market House Museum is a museum in the tradition of the many small local museums that used to exist all over the country but have now either vanished or been taken over by larger concerns. Watchet Museum retains its identity, character and individuality, with its very local flavour. The museum contains much on the maritime history of the area, the West Somerset Mineral railway, and notable locals such as Yankee Jack and the marine artist Captain Thomas Chidgey.
