Wimbleball Lake is a large man-made reservoir, north-west of the town of Wiveliscombe in Somerset. Wimbleball was created in the late 1970s with the damming of the River Haddeo to provide drinking water for the Tiverton area of mid Devon. The lake today is a popular venue for trout fishing, kayaking, canoeing, and sailing, and has a well-used campsite, cafe and tearoom. Energetic walkers can walk around the lake via a scenic 9 mile long footpath.
